This is now the second category we have been shortlisted for at these awards, alongside Best Customer Service. To be recognised twice, by the same panel, in the same year, is something we genuinely could not be more proud of.

Best Social Impact: This is exactly why On the Button exists.

From the very beginning, our work has been rooted in safeguarding. We approach safeguarding as something that genuinely changes outcomes for the most vulnerable children in our society; and not as simply a process or a compliance exercise. The children who rely on the adults around them to notice, to record, to act and to follow through. The children for whom an early years setting might be the safest place they know.

That responsibility sits with us every single day. It is why we care so much about building something that actually works, something that is clear, accessible and reliable for the practitioners carrying that weight. When a designated safeguarding lead can log a concern quickly and confidently, when a manager can track patterns over time, when a team feels equipped rather than overwhelmed, children are safer. That is the impact we are working towards, every single day.

Social impact is not always easy to measure.

It does not always show up in numbers or headlines. Sometimes it shows up in a child whose concerns were spotted early. In a family who received the right support at the right time. In a practitioner who felt confident enough to act. We believe that technology, used thoughtfully and with genuine care, can be part of making those moments happen more often.

Being shortlisted for this award is a wonderful acknowledgement that what we are building matters beyond our business. It matters to settings, to families and to children. That is everything.
