How long has On the Button existed?
On the Button is a sophisticated software solution representing a modernised and enhanced iteration of proven technology derived from a decade-long legacy within another software application. This refined and innovative platform builds upon the solid foundation of its predecessor, ensuring a seamless and much-improved user experience.
Is On the Button it any good?
Before becoming On the Button, this software had been around for nearly ten years. Now, it's better than ever and meant to be a helpful solution for everyone. We wanted to ensure it's really good, so we had experts who run/work in different places and run Safeguarding training to check it out. We also asked for advice from other nursery and preschool owners on how to make it the best. We look forward to future feedback and to continuing to implement useful features in straightforward, practical ways.
Who is On the Button provided by?
Quality Early Years has been making evolving early years software for 35 years, which began in our award-winning, Outstanding settings. We recognise that well-being has been brought to the forefront of everyone's minds, and in talking with our clients, safeguarding remains a sticking point. Sadly, settings continue to be downgraded from an Outstanding or Good rating to Requires Improvement or Inadequate. We all hear the horrendous stories, many of which could have been prevented. This standalone software is the first and only of it's kind specifically made for the sector, by the sector.
Can it be used in any country?
Certainly! Laws can vary in different places. However, On the Button is designed to make it easy for staff to report concerns. It collects the information and notifies the selected people who should read it so they can review and evaluate the information and take appropriate action. If necessary, everything can be shared with external professionals in a professional and timely manner.
Are we able to suggest changes or improvements?
Yes, please! We are keen to keep improving On the Button to ensure it meets the needs of workers at all career levels, making things ultra-efficient, improving professionalism, and, most of all, highlighting children's issues early so they can be supported effectively.
PRACTICALITIES
How much support will I get?
The software is straightforward to use. However, short videos assist if required. Furthermore, human face-to-face support is available every week if you wish to access it, plus support on WhatsApp 24/7. All included. What can I record on your software? Let your team record anything they feel compromises a child's well-being. You have the option to add children and team members as they join your group or to add them as necessary. The DSL(s) and those senior can record their plan, interventions and outcomes as required.
How difficult is it to use?
Not at all. On the Button is simple to use! We offer lots of support but don't think you will need to tap into it much, although it would be great to see you!
Who and how are senior staff notified of an issue?
You have control over who receives email and SMS notifications. These preferences are set when adding staff members, typically including the Designated Safeguarding Lead, senior staff, and the Registered Person/Owner/Director. On the Button will immediately send notifications via SMS and email in the event of a safeguarding concern. Additionally, daily On the Button will automatically send SMS and email messages to those designated individuals to review general well-being logs entered on your software.
Is there a limit to the number of SMS messages sent?
There is no limit on the number of SMS messages, and they are all covered within your package.
SECURITY
How robust & secure is On the Button?
We take security seriously. That's why we make sure your information is super safe. We use strong protection like encryption, multi-factor authentication, and a permission system based on roles. We also keep your data separate for extra security.
Do you comply with Data Protection legislation?
Absolutely! We follow all the data protection laws in the UK.
IN RELATION TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
How much does it cost?
Fees depend on the size of the provision. Normal fees (without a special offer) are £7 per registered place per year, or 64p per registered place per month.
Do I pay one lump sum for the year?
You can save a bit and pay annually or make monthly payments.
Do I need to pay for extra support packages?
No. Everything is provided to help you and your team use On the Button effectively. If that proves not to be the case, we will arrange extra support as part of your contract, i.e., we will not ask for further payment.
Do I have to pay extra for the SMS messages?
No, regardless of the quantity used or the country of residence, SMS messaging is included in your package.
Why do you charge per 'registered place' (shown on the last Ofsted Report)?
This approach ensures fairness for all organisations, regardless of size. You have full clarity on your yearly expenses, eliminating any surprises or unexpected invoices demanding additional funds. The amount of children on your roll can change monthly, or even weekly - we don't want to charge you for children that don't exist or end up in a position where you are owing. This streamlined process simplifies your financial management and prevents the need for us to chase unpaid invoices or suspend software accounts. Should this method prove to be an issue, then we are happy to discuss alternative agreements with you.
What if I am not happy?
We hope you will tell us why and give us a chance to fix the problem. We aim to continually improve On the Button, so your views are important to us. However, for your peace of mind, we offer everyone a 90-day full money-back guarantee should On the Button not meet your needs. After that, one calendar month's notice is required on your regular payment date.
Will I be tied into a long contract?
No. We ask for one calendar month's notice from your regular payment date.
