How do we transition from paper to On the Button without losing any data?

You do not need to recreate years of historic safeguarding records when you move to On the Button.

Existing records should continue to be stored securely in line with your retention requirements, while On the Button is used for new safeguarding, wellbeing and other records from your agreed go-live date.

Where there is an ongoing concern, a brief relevant history can be added so that the context needed for future decision-making is available without copying across the whole previous record.

The aim is to create a clear starting point for using On the Button without losing the safeguarding history you already hold.
